Optionally, high-performance pulse modulators or pulse generators can be added to the Rohde & Schwarz SMB100B. Pulsed signals are often used in aerospace and defense to test radar systems. To meet this requirement, the Rohde & Schwarz SMB100B can also be equipped with the Rohde & Schwarz SMBB-K22 integrated pulse modulator and the Rohde & Schwarz SMBB-K23 pulse modulator.
The Rohde & Schwarz SMBB-K23 pulse modulator has excellent properties such as a minimum pulse width of 20 ns (for radar system tests). The pulse modulator enables radar tests to be carried out, for example, with a high on / off ratio of> 80 dB and very short rise and fall times of the measurement of <5 ns. The pulse modulator is either controlled by an external pulse signal or it is fed by the internal pulse generator as a modulation signal with single or double pulses or pulse sequences.
